Amazon Prime Video Acquires Bray Film Studios

Amazon Prime Video has acquired Bray Film Studios, a historic UK film studio located in Water Oakley, Berkshire, known for its role in productions like 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' and 'Rocketman'. The facility spans approximately 53,600 square feet, featuring five sound stages and extensive workshop space, and will serve as Amazon's creative hub in the UK, enhancing their production capabilities. Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video, emphasized the commitment to fostering relationships within the UK creative community and creating job opportunities. The acquisition aligns with Amazon's strategy to deepen its presence in the British film industry, following its previous acquisition of MGM Studios. Bray has a rich history, hosting iconic films since the 1950s, and is set to begin production on the second season of 'Citadel' in September 2024.
