Four teenagers from Detroit, aged 16 and 17, are facing potential adult charges for their involvement in an attempted theft of six Dodge Durangos valued at approximately $500,000 from Ground Effects Automotive in Warren. The teens were arrested after allegedly trying to ram two of the vehicles through a security gate early Monday morning. They have been charged with multiple felonies, including conspiracy to commit larceny and resisting arrest, with a pretrial hearing scheduled for September 4. Prosecutor Peter Lucido emphasized the seriousness of the crime, stating that the juveniles would face adult consequences if charged as adults. A 24-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the incident, while police continue to investigate any links to other vehicle thefts in the area. All stolen vehicles were recovered on-site, and the case highlights ongoing concerns about auto theft in the Metro Detroit region.
