Meteor Causes NYC Noise and Vibrations

A meteor streaked across the sky over New York City and New Jersey on July 16, creating a loud boom and shaking buildings. NASA's Meteor Watch confirmed the daylight fireball disintegrated 29 miles above Midtown Manhattan after passing over the Statue of Liberty. The meteor, traveling at speeds up to 41,000 mph, was too small to be tracked before entering the atmosphere.
