Ben White Excluded from England Squad by Carsley
Interim England manager Lee Carsley has confirmed that defender Ben White remains unavailable for selection in his first squad for upcoming Nations League matches against the Republic of Ireland and Finland. White, who has not played for the national team since leaving the 2022 World Cup camp due to a reported disagreement with assistant manager Steve Holland, continues to maintain his self-imposed exclusion despite the departure of Holland and former manager Gareth Southgate. Carsley noted that while some reports suggest White is open to returning, there has been no change in his status. The squad includes four uncapped players: Noni Madueke, Morgan Gibbs-White, Tino Livramento, and Angel Gomes. Carsley's focus is on bringing continuity to the national team while searching for a new permanent manager. The matches are scheduled for September 7 and 10, 2024.
