Maryland Task Force Disrupts Illegal Car Rally Events

The Maryland Car Rally Task Force, in collaboration with various police agencies, disrupted eleven illegal exhibition driving events across Baltimore, Prince George’s, and Anne Arundel counties on Saturday night. Up to 200 participants were reported attempting to shut down intersections and perform dangerous stunts, prompting police intervention. The operation resulted in seven arrests, the recovery of one stolen vehicle, and the seizure of an illegal firearm. Among those arrested were Daniel Linton, charged with assault on police, and several individuals linked to a stolen vehicle. This crackdown is part of an ongoing initiative that has intensified since June 2024 to address dangerous 'takeovers' that disrupt traffic and pose public safety risks. Authorities are increasing patrols in hotspot areas and conducting comprehensive investigations to hold participants accountable.
