Renewable energy generation in India

Recent reports highlight significant advancements in renewable energy across India and Iran, showcasing both successes and challenges. In India, the private sector has been criticized for lagging in renewable energy goals, with only 5% of electricity sourced from renewables despite ambitious commitments. Meanwhile, Maharashtra's rooftop solar generation has surpassed 100 MW under the Pradhanmantri Suryaghar Muft Bijali Yojna, benefiting over 25,000 consumers with substantial subsidies. In Iran, renewable power generation increased by 9% in the last month, with plans for 600 new plants expected to boost the renewable share to 15% of the electricity mix.
