Flinders University has appointed Hugh Milroy, CEO of Veterans Aid, as an honorary Professor to enhance its Open Door Research Initiative, which focuses on veteran support. Milroy's Welfare to Wellbeing© model, which provides holistic care for veterans, will be integrated into Open Door's initiatives in Australia and globally. Meanwhile, OpenAI has announced the addition of Zico Kolter, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University specializing in AI safety, to its board of directors. Kolter will also serve on the Safety and Security Committee, which advises on safety protocols for OpenAI projects. His expertise in AI safety aims to bolster OpenAI’s governance and ensure responsible AI development. These appointments reflect a commitment to improving support for veterans and ensuring the safe advancement of artificial intelligence.
