Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open, less than a week after winning his first Olympic gold medal by defeating Carlos Alcaraz. The 37-year-old Serbian, who is the defending champion at both the Cincinnati Open and the upcoming US Open, decided to take a break due to the emotional and physical toll of the Olympics. Cincinnati Open tournament director Bob Moran expressed understanding, calling Djokovic's previous title run memorable. Djokovic's withdrawal allows France's Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard to enter the tournament. Djokovic plans to return to competition at the Shanghai Masters in October.
