Director Fede Alvarez Draws Inspiration from The Last of Us

Fede Álvarez, director of 'Alien: Romulus', revealed that the character Kay, played by Isabela Merced, was inspired by Dina from 'The Last of Us Part II' while he was writing the film. Álvarez shared on social media that he decided to make Kay pregnant after being influenced by Dina's storyline. Interestingly, a year after casting Merced as Kay, she was also cast to play Dina in the upcoming season of HBO's adaptation of the game.
