Miles' defense raised issues regarding the late issuance of Miranda Rights and argued self-defense, claiming the incident was initiated by Harris' boyfriend, Cedric Johnson. Despite the defense's arguments and proposals for strict bond conditions, Judge Daniel Pruet denied the motion, citing the likelihood of conviction. Future hearings will address motions to suppress Miles' statements made to law enforcement on the night of the shooting.
