Coleman III Released from Hospital After Injury
Chicago Bears defensive back Douglas Coleman III was taken off the field on a stretcher after a severe injury during a preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Coleman was hurt while making a tackle on Cornell Powell and was immobilized on a backboard before being taken to the hospital. Despite the frightening incident, Coleman was walking unassisted and returned to Chicago after being released from the hospital. Bears coach Matt Eberflus reported that Coleman is in good spirits and moved his limbs, providing a thumbs-up to his team. Other Bears players, including offensive lineman Larry Borom and wide receiver Nsimba Webster, also sustained injuries in the game. The Bears won their preseason finale 34-21.
