McDavid Wins Redesigned NHL All-Star Skills Competition
The NHL All-Star Skills Competition, restructured into a three-round event featuring 12 players competing in various skills, took place in Toronto and was sponsored by Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons. Connor McDavid, who was involved in the planning and design of the competition, emerged as the winner, claiming the $1m prize, and beating Cale Makar by 25 points. The competition also featured former All-Star Game attendees like Leon Draisaitl, Auston Matthews, Nikita Kucherov, Sidney Crosby, and Nathan MacKinnon. The changes to the competition were a result of feedback from McDavid and fans to improve the format and excitement of the event. The All-Star Weekend will conclude with the All-Star Game on Sunday, with teams led by Connor McDavid, David Pastrnak, Sidney Crosby, and Alex Ovechkin.
