Rajnath Singh Leads Security Meeting on Kashmir Terrorism

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh convened a high-level meeting on August 14 to address the rising terror-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, attended by key security officials including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. The meeting, held at South Block, follows a string of violent incidents, including a recent gunfight in Anantnag that resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and a civilian. Reports indicate that 28 individuals, including both civilians and security personnel, were killed in terror-related activities up to July 21 this year, prompting heightened security measures ahead of Independence Day.
