Former Wales rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit, now with the Kansas City Chiefs, is dealing with a back injury that might impact his chances of making the team's 53-man roster. Rees-Zammit, who joined the Chiefs via the NFL's International Player Pathway, has shown versatility in preseason games, playing as a running back, kicker, and kick-returner. Despite missing recent practices, he played multiple roles in the Chiefs' 24-23 defeat to the Detroit Lions and their earlier 26-13 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub acknowledged the injury but emphasized the need for more reps to improve kick returns and other special teams duties. The final roster will be decided after the Chiefs' last preseason game against the Chicago Bears on August 27. The Chiefs' season opener is against the Baltimore Ravens on September 6.
