The lawsuit, which was filed in Colorado federal court, accuses Prime of using Olympic-related terms such as 'Olympic,' 'Olympian,' 'Team USA,' and 'Going for Gold' in its marketing and product packaging, particularly in a campaign featuring NBA star Kevin Durant. The USOPC claims that these actions are likely to confuse consumers into thinking that Prime is an official sponsor, which infringes on Coca-Cola's exclusive rights to use Olympic trademarks on beverages. Despite a cease-and-desist letter sent on July 10, Prime allegedly continued its marketing efforts, prompting the lawsuit. The committee is seeking to halt Prime's use of these trademarks and is requesting monetary damages.
