John Abraham stars in the upcoming action-drama film Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, which tells the story of a young woman resisting a repressive system, with Abraham portraying a court-martialed Army officer who trains her. Set to release on August 15, 2024, Vedaa is facing tough competition at the box office from Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 and Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein. As of now, Vedaa has sold approximately 11,000 tickets and grossed around Rs 30 lakh, but it is significantly lagging behind Stree 2, which has amassed nearly Rs 7 crore in advance bookings. Despite a positive trailer response, Vedaa's early ticket sales have been underwhelming, with reports of only around 2,500 tickets sold initially. The film is anticipated to attract patriotic movie lovers due to its Independence Day release theme.
