Kansas Unveils New Standard License Plate Design

Kansas has officially rolled out its new standard license plate design, 'To the Stars', selected by public vote with 53% support from over 270,000 participants. The plate showcases the Kansas Statehouse dome and features a blue, white, and yellow gradient background, celebrating the state motto 'Ad Astra per Aspera'. This design replaces the previous 'Ad Astra' plates and is available for all new registrations and replacements at county treasurer's offices. Meanwhile, Arizona has introduced three new specialty license plates for local organizations, including the Phoenix Rising soccer team and the Hualapai Tribe, expanding their options to 104 designs. The specialty plates cost $25 each, with a portion of the fees benefiting associated charities. Both developments reflect a growing trend in custom and thematic vehicle registration options across states.
