Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to become a nationwide mass movement ahead of Independence Day, urging citizens to change their social media profile pictures to the tricolour and share selfies on the campaign website. The initiative, which encourages the display of the national flag at homes, will be held from August 9 to August 15 across various states, including Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Odisha, involving activities like Tiranga yatras, flag hoisting, and sapling planting. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah have also promoted the campaign, emphasizing its role in spreading the message of independence. The BJP has integrated the campaign into its broader political activities, including election preparations in states like Chhattisgarh and Haryana.
