Woman Drowns Near Raynham/Taunton Line

The body of 23-year-old Elfreda Nenen Yovonie was discovered in Bunk Pond, located near the Raynham/Taunton town line in Massachusetts, after a reported drowning on Saturday afternoon. Taunton police and firefighters, assisted by the North Bristol County and Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council dive teams, recovered her body shortly before 7:00 p.m. The initial call to emergency services was made around 4:30 p.m. by friends of the victim. Officials have stated that the drowning is not believed to be suspicious, but a thorough investigation is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office. Yovonie’s cause of death was confirmed as drowning.
