Sumit Nagal will lead the Indian Davis Cup team against Sweden in the World Group I tie on September 14-15, marking his return after missing the previous tie against Pakistan. Yuki Bhambri has opted out of the contest, with the selection committee confirming his non-availability without providing a reason, amidst reports of his dissatisfaction regarding the Olympic partner selection. Sasikumar Mukund is serving a two-tie suspension for his refusal to participate earlier this year, leaving the squad to include Nagal, Ramkumar Ramanathan, N Sriram Balaji, Niki Poonacha, and Siddharth Vishwakarma, with Aryan Shah as a reserve. Rohit Rajpal will serve as the non-playing captain, and Ashutosh Singh has taken over as the new coach. The match will take place on indoor hard courts in Stockholm, where India aims for its first victory over Sweden in Davis Cup history, having lost all previous encounters. The team hopes to leverage Nagal's strong performance, as he won three out of four matches last year.
