Man hit by train
A 53-year-old man died after being struck by a train while allegedly fleeing a robbery in Largs North, Adelaide, on Thursday. Witnesses reported that he had stolen a packet of sugar from a deli and punched a shopkeeper when confronted. After fleeing the store, he ran onto the tracks in front of an approaching train, despite bystanders shouting warnings. Emergency services rushed him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The incident resulted in the closure of Strathfield Terrace for police investigation and caused delays on the Outer Harbor train line. Authorities are preparing a report for the coroner.
