China and Malaysia Extend Visa-Free Policy and Sign New Trade Agreements
China and Malaysia have agreed to extend their mutual visa-free exemption policy, with China extending it until 2025 and Malaysia until 2026, to enhance bilateral exchanges and boost tourism. Premier Li Qiang's visit to Malaysia underscores the deepening economic ties, marking the first visit by a Chinese Premier to the country since 2015. Both nations have signed agreements to bolster supply chain resilience, trade expansion in services, and cooperation in the digital economy and green development. Trade between the two countries reached nearly $100 billion in 2023, reflecting China's status as Malaysia's largest trading partner for 15 years. Additionally, China has added New Zealand and Australia to its unilateral visa-free list, further showcasing its openness to international exchanges.
