This move aims to prevent accidental ingestion by children and unsuspecting adults, which has led to numerous hospitalizations, including cases in Ohio and Maine. The products' misleading packaging poses significant health risks, with incidents of children as young as four years old being hospitalized after consuming these edibles. The federal agencies are cracking down on these practices to ensure consumer safety and prevent further incidents. Companies have been given 15 days to respond with corrective measures or face potential legal action.
