Michigan Senate Race: Slotkin vs. Rogers

Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin and former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers have secured their respective party nominations for the Michigan Senate seat left open by retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow. Slotkin, a former CIA officer with substantial fundraising prowess, defeated actor Hill Harper in the Democratic primary. Rogers, a former FBI agent and Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, won the Republican primary with backing from former President Donald Trump, defeating Justin Amash and Sherry O’Donnell. The race is considered a 'toss-up' and could be pivotal in determining Senate control. Slotkin currently leads in early polling, but both candidates have significant support and distinct campaigning focuses, including economic issues and reproductive rights.
