Willow Grove Park Mall Introduces Supervision Policy
Starting October 1, Willow Grove Park Mall has implemented a new parental supervision policy requiring visitors under 18 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 21 during specific hours: after 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and after 3 p.m. on Sundays. This decision, aimed at creating a secure, family-friendly environment, comes in response to concerns regarding large groups of unsupervised minors disrupting the shopping experience. Security personnel will enforce the policy at the mall's entrances and in parking areas, requiring photo identification to verify ages if necessary. Although some local residents express disappointment, citing a lack of places for teens to socialize, mall officials emphasize the need for safety and the positive role of families in the shopping center's community. Similar policies have been seen at other malls, highlighting a nationwide trend towards increased supervision of minors in public spaces. Store employees under 18 will not be affected by this policy as they can work without supervision during their shifts, provided they show proof of employment.
