Northwestern to Hire Villanova's Mark Jackson as AD

Northwestern University is set to hire Villanova's athletic director, Mark Jackson, to fill its vacant AD position. Jackson, who has served as Villanova's AD since 2015, emerged as the top candidate among three finalists, which included Pitt's Heather Lyke and former Washington Commanders executive Jason Wright. During his tenure at Villanova, Jackson oversaw two national championships in men's basketball and significant facility upgrades, earning accolades like the Under Armour AD of the Year in 2020. Northwestern is looking to Jackson to bring his extensive experience in fundraising, facility development, and athletic administration to the school, which has recently faced challenges, including the dismissal of football coach Pat Fitzgerald due to a hazing scandal. The deal is expected to be finalized soon, making Jackson the third AD at Northwestern since December 2020.
