The Summer Paralympics 2024, held in Paris from August 28 to September 8, promises to highlight the resilience of para-athletes under the motto "Games Wide Open." Featuring over 4,000 athletes from 168 nations, the event will include 549 events across 22 sports, showcasing the dedication and skill of competitors including Canada's Tara Llanes and Nathan Clement. The Games will take place at 20 venues throughout Paris, aiming for the most accessible Paralympics in history. Israeli athletes, among others, will have heightened security following threats at the recent Olympics, while competitors from various backgrounds will represent their nations, including a notable Jewish delegation. Athletes from the U.S., such as former gold medalist Jenifer and world record holder Nick Mayhugh, are also set to compete, promising a thrilling display of talent. The event not only aims to celebrate athletic excellence but also to promote inclusivity and change perceptions around disabilities.
