Wisconsin Launches PRINCE Act for Missing Children

Wisconsin has launched a new Missing Child Alert system in response to the tragic deaths of five-year-old Prince McCree and ten-year-old Lily Peters, who went missing and did not qualify for Amber Alerts due to their stringent criteria. The new alert, named the PRINCE Act, can be issued for children under 10 years old and those under 18 with disabilities that prevent them from returning home, filling the gap left by the Amber Alert system. The alert is broadcasted to phones within a five-mile radius of the last known location and on Wisconsin DOT highway boards and lottery terminals. State Senator LaTonya Johnson and Prince's parents, who have been advocating since his death, hope this system will prevent future tragedies. The initiative, supported by Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul and Governor Tony Evers, aims to ensure that no missing child case goes without critical public alerts.
