Man Killed by Own XL Bully Dog in Accrington

David Daintree, 53, was tragically mauled to death by his own XL Bully dog at his home in Accrington, Lancashire. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM on Tuesday when police were called by the ambulance service after receiving reports of the attack. Officers found Mr. Daintree deceased and shot the dog as it continued to pose a significant threat. An investigation into the circumstances is ongoing, and Superintendent Marie Jackson has appealed for anyone with information to come forward. Neighbors revealed that Mr. Daintree had owned the dog for only a few weeks. The XL Bully breed was recently banned in England and Wales unless owners have a valid Certificate of Exemption.
