Angels Defeat Mariners 3-1 in Ninth Inning
Jo Adell's two-out single in the ninth inning propelled the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night. Adell's hit scored Brandon Drury and was aided by an error from center fielder Victor Robles, allowing Zach Neto to also cross the plate. Despite Mariners starter Bryce Miller's dominant seven scoreless innings, the Angels tied the game in the eighth with a sacrifice fly from Taylor Ward. Cal Raleigh's early RBI single gave Seattle the lead, but Angels relievers held strong, allowing just one hit in the final innings. In addition, the Angels are expecting Mike Trout to begin his rehab assignment with the Salt Lake Bees this week. Both teams made roster moves, with the Mariners dealing with injuries, including a hairline fracture for SS J.P. Crawford.
