Following a large-scale protest in Hartlepool on July 31, a significant number of arrests have been made in connection with violent disorder. Seven men, aged 28 to 54, have been charged with violent disorder, with additional charges including assault on an emergency worker and possession of an offensive weapon. An 11-year-old boy has also been arrested on suspicion of arson after a police vehicle was set on fire during the unrest. The protests are believed to be linked to a fatal knife attack on three children in Southport. Cleveland Police reported that officers were attacked with missiles, and four officers sustained minor injuries during the chaos. Local MP Jonathan Brash condemned the violence, urging the community to remain calm amidst the ongoing investigations.
