Stree 2 Surpasses Baahubali Box Office Record

‘Stree 2’, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has emerged as a significant box office success since its August 15, 2024 release, surpassing the earnings of 'Baahubali: The Beginning' to become the 9th biggest hit in Indian cinema with a domestic collection of Rs 424.05 crore. Despite facing competition from films like 'Vedaa' and 'Khel Khel Mein', it has consistently achieved double-digit earnings, although it recorded its lowest single-day collection of Rs 9.25 crore on day 14. The film is now just 81 crores away from becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood sequel, currently held by 'Gadar 2' at Rs 525.50 crore. With a worldwide gross of approximately Rs 607.23 crore, 'Stree 2' is also among the most profitable films of the year, having earned over 12 times its production budget of Rs 50 crore. Analysts predict that if it maintains its momentum, it could reach the Rs 500 crore benchmark in India by the end of its third weekend, making it one of only a few Bollywood films to achieve this feat. The film's strong performance has revitalized family audiences' interest in theaters, contributing to its overall success.
