India Commissions Second Nuclear Submarine INS Arighaat

India has officially commissioned its second Arihant-class submarine, INS Arighaat, enhancing its nuclear deterrence capabilities. The 111-meter long, 6,000 kg submarine is equipped with K-15 ballistic missiles and features advanced indigenous technology developed by Indian scientists and industry. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that this submarine will strengthen India's nuclear triad and contribute to regional peace and security, aligning with the government's goal of self-reliance in defense. Singh highlighted the economic benefits of this project, including job creation within the defense sector. The submarine's construction involved complex engineering and high-level craftsmanship, showcasing India's growing defense capabilities amidst challenges posed by regional powers like China. INS Arighaat will soon be joined by additional submarines, further bolstering India's naval strength.
