Bank Manager Arrested for FDP Loan Fraud

A sales manager at Axis Bank in Debagarh, India, was arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 18 lakh from a customer's fixed deposit by taking out a loan in the customer's name without consent. In a separate incident at another Axis Bank branch in Noida, a junior colleague, Shivani Tyagi, died by suicide after facing bullying at work, leading to the arrest of the sales manager for abetment to suicide. The police investigation revealed that the arrested manager was the immediate boss of the deceased woman and was influenced by another female colleague, who is currently on the run. Multiple FIRs have been filed, including one under section 108 for abetting suicide, involving several colleagues. The tragic incidents have sparked probes, arrests, and expressions of regret from Axis Bank and Quess Corp, the third-party company employing the deceased junior colleague.
