Modi, Chinh Discuss South China Sea Disputes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized non-militarization and peaceful resolution of disputes in the South China Sea, indirectly addressing Chinese expansionism. Modi highlighted India's commitment to development over expansionism and announced a $300 million credit line to enhance Vietnam's maritime security. Both leaders reaffirmed their support for a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region in accordance with international law, particularly UNCLOS 1982. The visit included the inauguration of an Army Software Park in Nha Trang and the signing of multiple agreements to boost defense, cyber security, and other strategic partnerships.
