One year after the devastating Maui wildfires, significant recovery efforts and legal resolutions are underway. The fires burned nearly 7,000 acres and destroyed much of Lahaina, impacting 65% of its properties and displacing 12,000 people. A $4 billion global settlement has been reached to resolve 450 lawsuits related to the fires. Efforts to clear debris and inspect infrastructure have progressed, with 1,369 residential and 69 commercial properties cleared so far. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has donated over $1.5 million to aid recovery efforts and provided temporary shelter and necessities to evacuees. Community initiatives and workshops continue to support fire survivors with claims and rebuilding plans.
