Francis Ngannou to fight

Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, is set to make his return to MMA on October 19 in Saudi Arabia, facing Renan Ferreira in his PFL promotional debut. Ngannou has not competed in MMA since January 2022, having spent the last two years focused on boxing, where he faced notable opponents Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, both resulting in defeats. Ferreira, who recently won the PFL's 2023 heavyweight tournament, boasts an impressive record with 13 wins and a notable knockout of Bellator champion Ryan Bader. Ngannou expressed admiration for Ferreira's athleticism and skills during a recent podcast with Joe Rogan, where he also reflected on his personal life following the tragic loss of his son earlier this year. Looking ahead, Ngannou plans to continue fighting until he feels it is no longer exciting, potentially retiring before the age of 41. Additionally, he will lead PFL Africa when it launches in 2025.
