Bus Service Improvements Announced Across Multiple Regions

A series of bus service improvements are set to take effect across various regions in the UK starting September 1, 2024. Lancashire County Council announced increased funding that will enhance bus services across the county, including more frequent journeys in key areas such as Lancaster and Morecambe, supported by £41.9m from the government's Bus Service Improvement Plan. In West Yorkshire, new timetables will adjust journey times and routes for operators like First and Arriva, with improved frequencies on routes connecting Halifax and Hebden Bridge. Centrebus will revise its services in Luton and Hertfordshire, introducing off-peak journeys and a new Sunday service, while reducing others due to low usage. Stagecoach in Hull is also implementing significant changes, focusing on increased frequency and reliability, which are expected to enhance local connectivity and attract more passengers.
