At the 47th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced a strategic transformation of the company into a deep tech enterprise, emphasizing the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI). He asserted that this technological evolution is expected to drive hyper-growth, potentially placing Reliance among the world's top 30 companies. The company has invested ₹3,643 crore (approximately $437 million) in research and development this fiscal year, contributing to a total of over ₹11,000 crore (around $1.5 billion) in R&D over the last four years. Ambani highlighted that RIL filed 2,555 patents in 2023-24, focusing on areas such as bio-energy, solar technology, and advanced digital systems, including 5G and AI. Ambani expressed confidence that these efforts will significantly multiply the company's value in the coming years.
