Devotees Celebrate Raksha Bandhan in Srinagar

Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in Srinagar with a surge in temple visits and sweet shop sales, as families exchanged sweets and tied Rakhis, including CRPF personnel celebrating at Srinagar International Airport. In Odisha, the government announced plans to offer free Mahaprasad at the Puri Jagannath Temple to enhance the experience for devotees, especially during busy festivals. Meanwhile, two kanwariyas tragically lost their lives in separate accidents in Shahjahanpur while returning from fetching Ganga water. Across cities like Patna and Bhubaneswar, devotees participated in religious observances and rituals, including the last 'Somwari' of the Shrawan month, with significant turnout at temples. In Jamshedpur, a bhajan evening drew over 25,000 attendees, honoring community service and featuring performances by notable artists. The Sharanabasaveshwar temple in Kalaburagi also saw large crowds as devotees engaged in prayers throughout the auspicious Shravanamasa.
