Ken Griffin Plans $1 Billion Skyscraper in Miami
Ken Griffin, founder of Citadel LLC, has unveiled plans for a $1 billion mixed-use skyscraper in Miami's Brickell district, with construction expected to begin in 2025. The 54-story tower, designed by the acclaimed firm Foster + Partners, will serve as Citadel's new headquarters, featuring 1.3 million square feet of office space and a 212-room luxury hotel. Alongside Griffin's companies, additional tenants are anticipated to occupy the building, which will also include restaurants, retail areas, and public spaces. The project is part of a broader trend of businesses relocating to Miami, which has become an attractive destination due to its favorable tax environment and business-friendly policies. The skyscraper's design aims to enhance the Miami skyline while promoting connectivity with the planned Baywalk waterfront trail. The land for the tower was purchased by Citadel for a record $363 million in 2022, reflecting Griffin's commitment to the city's burgeoning real estate market.
