Gold Mine Discovered in Odisha's Deogarh District

The Odisha government has announced the discovery of gold mines in several districts, primarily highlighted by a significant find in the Adasa-Ramapalli area of Deogarh district. Minister of Steel and Mines, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, reported that the Geological Survey of India (GSI) discovered gold during a copper prospecting survey. The government is preparing to auction the gold mine block, while additional surveys are being conducted in areas such as Gopur-Gazipur in Keonjhar and various locations in Mayurbhanj and other districts. Jena confirmed that further inspections are ongoing, and while gold deposits are likely in multiple districts, excavation plans are not yet established due to pending assessments of the gold's quantity and quality. The state has no current plans to establish a processing unit for gold extraction.
