Veteran actress Mumtaz has addressed longstanding rumors of rivalry with Sharmila Tagore, clarifying that there is no animosity between them despite her earlier comments suggesting otherwise. In a recent interview, Mumtaz expressed her respect for Tagore, describing her as 'far more educated and sophisticated', and noted that both actresses worked extensively with the late Rajesh Khanna. She revealed that while she achieved box office success with Khanna, Tagore had some flops, stating, 'It was God's blessing that not one film of mine with Kaka flopped.' Mumtaz acknowledged Khanna's possessiveness towards her, sharing that he would get upset when she signed films with other male co-stars, but she never sulked about it. She emphasized that Khanna never encouraged a rivalry between the two actresses. Mumtaz concluded that while they didn't socialize, there is no 'bad blood' between her and Tagore.
