18th Lok Sabha Members Take Oaths in Diversified Inaugural Session

The 18th Lok Sabha commenced with the oath-taking of 262 newly elected MPs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the remaining members scheduled to take their oaths the following day. The session displayed significant linguistic diversity, with oaths being taken in various languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, and Sanskrit. Prominent figures sworn in included BJP leaders Narayan Rane and Amit Shah, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and TDP's K. Ram Mohan Naidu, the youngest minister in the NDA 3.0 cabinet. The session also saw opposition protests, including slogans related to the NEET exam controversy. Pro-tem Speaker Bhartruhari Mahtab presided over the proceedings, reminding members to adhere to the prescribed oath.
