Man Arrested for Murdering Niece in Uttar Pradesh

Manikant Dwivedi, a 22-year-old man from Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his niece, Mansi Pandey, after she expressed her intention to marry another man. The crime surfaced when Mansi went missing after visiting her aunt's home for Raksha Bandhan. Her father, Ramsagar Pandey, filed a missing person report, suspecting Manikant's involvement. During police questioning, Manikant confessed to having an affair with Mansi for two years and admitted to strangling her in a fit of rage when she announced her plans for marriage. To cover up the crime, he disposed of her body in an under-construction building and discarded her cellphone on a moving bus. Mansi's body has been recovered, and a post-mortem examination is underway as police continue their investigation.
