Mumbai Man Files Complaint Against Amazon

Amar Chavan, a 42-year-old deputy engineer in Mumbai, has filed a police complaint against Amazon after receiving a set of tea cups instead of the Tecno Phantom V Fold smartphone he ordered for Rs 54,999. Chavan claims he faced poor customer service from Amazon, with unfulfilled promises of investigation follow-ups, prompting him to escalate the matter legally. The incident, which occurred on July 15, has led to an FIR being registered under the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. Chavan has also provided police with CCTV footage of the delivery person. This case follows another bizarre incident where a Bengaluru woman found a snake in her Amazon package, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding Amazon's delivery practices in India. No immediate comment has been received from Amazon regarding Chavan's complaint.
