Cyberabad Police Recover 570 Stolen Phones

The Cyberabad Police have successfully recovered 570 stolen and lost mobile phones valued at ₹1.50 crore over the past 25 days using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. This recovery is part of a larger effort where a total of 2,696 stolen phones have been retrieved in the last eight months, with 1,200 of those recovered in the past three months alone. DCP K. Narasimha praised the police force for their efforts and emphasized the importance of citizens reporting lost phones either at police stations or via the CEIR portal. Each department's contributions were highlighted, with specific recovery numbers from various police stations. The DCP also stressed the necessity of using the CEIR portal to prevent the misuse of stolen devices. The Telangana police have been recognized for their high recovery rates, with 21,293 phones recovered across the state from January to July 2023.
