Amanda Staveley Plans 25% Stake Purchase in Tottenham

Amanda Staveley, the former co-owner of Newcastle United, is making moves to secure a minority stake in Tottenham Hotspur, backed by significant funding from Middle Eastern investors. Following her departure from Newcastle after selling her shares to the Saudi Public Investment Fund, Staveley aims to purchase approximately 25% of Spurs, valued at £2.42 billion, which could cost around £650 million. Reports suggest that Staveley has already raised £500 million through her investment firm, PCP Capital Partners. Interestingly, she could maintain her previous Newcastle shares since her stake was below the 9.9% limit that would prevent ownership in two clubs. Tottenham's current majority owners, the ENIC Group, may be open to investment, especially after recent restructuring involving Joe Lewis's family trust.
