Heritage Open Days and Labor Day Parade
The Heritage Open Days festival, running from 6 to 15 September, will allow public access to numerous historic buildings across England, many of which are usually closed to the public. Notable sites include the church in Warwickshire where J.R.R. Tolkien married and the oldest real tennis club globally. Sussex and Surrey will also partake, with Surrey's events featuring a talk on the M25 motorway and tours of historic vehicles and war graves. Kent's highlights include Canterbury Cathedral, Charles Dickens' writing chalet, and Chartwell House, Winston Churchill's home. Meanwhile, Winchester will celebrate its 120th Labor Day Parade from August 30th to September 2nd, featuring family-friendly activities, live music, and food vendors.
