Delhi Rains Cause Leakage in New Parliament

Heavy rainfall in Delhi caused water leakage and waterlogging in the newly constructed Parliament building, leading to criticism from opposition leaders. Despite being part of the Rs 20,000 crore Central Vista Redevelopment Project and costing Rs 971 crore to construct, the new building faced significant weather resilience issues just a year after its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Delhi recorded its highest single-day rainfall in July in 14 years, exacerbating the situation with severe waterlogging and traffic congestion across the city. The opposition called for a specialized committee to investigate and address the issue of leaks in the new Parliament building.
